Forever and a day

Well so much had happened since I last even thought about this space. I have decided to come back and give it some attention. It truly has been so long. The world shut down in a global pandemic. Then it finally reopened slowly and still has it's setbacks.

It took me almost 2 years before I got to see my love. When we got together finally it was so magical and such an amazing time. Two beautiful bonus granddaughters are now in our life. Being able to travel again has been wonderful but still gives me a bit of anxiety with all the craziness of the virus that caused the world to shut down in the first place. I ended up no longer working at Lowe's anymore and to me, it was the best thing that could have happened.

The band is still practicing in the basement with transitions of a member and now they have really jelled into their growing sound and style. I love Thursdays so much when they all come together. They spent some time this past fall recording and making new tunes. My son is about to turn 22 in just a few short weeks, time flies by so quickly. Still he's the youngest member of the band but it's nice that they won't have to make special accommodations for when they play any shows that are 21+ now, which is pretty cool.

Speaking of how quickly time goes by, we are approaching the end of my daughter's senior year of high school. She is the last class that will walk thru the halls of this school, as the town prepares for the new school to finally open in the fall and this one will come down. It will be the end of an era. College acceptance letters are coming in!! It's pretty incredible. I'm proud of both my kiddos but schooling has been so different for the two of them. But I'm proud of them both, in so many ways.

And oh my, the music and bands that I've been so privileged to see and hear over the last few years has been phenomenal. From Blind Melon, to Avetts & finally getting to see Pearl Jam with all the other bands in between.

Soon, I get to start it up again this year will some kickass bands to see all over. I'm a spoiled concert goer and I'm so ok with it. Also add into that my incredible voyage back to my home away from home in September that is amazing as well. I'm so ready for it all. I love adventuring and traveling and can't wait to include visits with the love of my life. This year and beyond is going to be epic.

This just is my little nutshell of getting back into writing again. I've made little lists and notes of memories, I might include those as well. I think that could be fun. Until next time.

It's been almost an entire year!!!

It's been a constant journey of ups and downs with incredible moments since the last time! Isn't that life anyway? In the absence of writing I have had so many adventures come about the last year. I'm once again having that creative urge to get back to regularly keep up with pieces in here. But I'm not going up force it. My mister always reminds me to be authentic and keep it real and to be happy. So once it doesn't feel that way then I'll step away. That's what I seem to continually do with this blog. I dabble, I scribble and scrawl. Even if it's just a snippet and a glimpse. I'll do it as often as my mind ignites with passion to get the ideas out into the universe. Sometimes it might be a post with real, genuine substance. And then again, there could just be a random tidbit. That's just how I roll with this.  I'm guessing it will depend on where my thoughts lead me to the moment. Lately there have been some incredible adventures with the mister and I. Especially our trip to DC & Falls Church & to see Blind Melon. That was such an awesome trip (I really should make a post about that as well, it's been a long time since I've written about my music adventures). The kids have had some amazing accomplishments as well. My son graduated high school and moved out to live on campus in college. Eleanor and the Pretty Things has had two amazing tours and they've released an EP and is about to drop another one. My daughter started high school and had a very successful Cross Country season and made high honors. My bonus daughter made me a Meme, with our gorgeous granddaughter. The other two bonus daughters are doing great things as well. I'm a very proud mama. With all the achievements, there's also been struggles and times of weariness. But through that pain, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Positivity and a strong mindset is what keeps us all keeping on. In the blink of an eye, time just flies right by as another season of the year begins. I vividly recall the moment in time of the age that my son is turning this month. This will be his last year of teenage hood. Time truly catches up with you when you least expect it to. Weren't all the kids just babies?...

Thoughts swirling thru my mind

This week is going to go slower than I'd like. I gathered together old photos from birthday's and it's bittersweet looking thru the memories. I'm attempting to gather everything together. I still cannot believe that he's entering into the end of his teenage years. How can time go so quickly?

Busy day

Right now I'm cozied up in bed and I'm winding down after a busy day of work and an after party from the flower show. I'm going through timelines of pictures to put together a sideshow since I got permission from the almost adult. I'm going to rest and come up with ideas of creativity. I've got some things churning.

One week from today

Count down is on and I'm scrambling to get things pulled together for fun birthday celebrating. This week will be exhilarating and exhausting. I'm still blown away that my oldest is as old as he's going to be. My bonus girls are already past their teens so my mister has been here and done this. I'm happy that will all be headed into this next phase of life. One more to go thru high school after this.

Two days in one, four and five combined

I wasn't feeling it enough to scrawl anything yesterday so I decided to just sit back and let the moment pass until I got an idea and felt the ease to get it out thru here. Bring on the weekend and just a handful of days until I am the parent to an official adult and then until the celebration for him. It's too bad there's a few people unable to come but it'll still be a good time gathered together. I'm just taking all the planning one small step at a time. My mister is helping me slow down so that I won't be as overwhelmed as I often tend to get. I'm attempting to keep my mind at peace.

Three, it's a magic number

We're getting hit with another ginormous snow storm. The fourth one we've had in two weeks! It's supposed to be spring. Mother nature is completely off her rocker and confused. After getting home from doing all of the errands this morning, the smell of snow filled the air. And I'm like nope. That's it, my mister, we're moving somewhere tropical where we don't have to deal with this anymore! Where we can lay on the beach and drink cocktails and you can sell pooka shells to the tourists...
